Pixel Scrapper January Blogtrain Freebie!!!

I can't believe just how fast this year has gone by, and we are already getting ready to start a new one!!Where did the time go? Obviously not on my blog, haha, it is so poorly neglected lately. Maybe this new year will prove to be different and I'll learn some time management skills,haha....So how was your year? Mine was quite a roller coaster to say the least, but what an adventure. Now that we are "officially" retired from the military, and have adjusted a little to our new life, Eric and I are having a fun time taking on the challenges of life together (literally). Its fun having him around at home all the time, mostly because we are both movie junkies, and LOVE to watch Star Trek (any of them) together,  but also, because we laugh, talk, (and sometimes just stare out into nothingness with a blank expression of complete tiredness to point of almost drooling) together while the kids are in the constant "on" position destroying everything in the house around us. Sometimes we fight, ok, we are human, me and my logic (Live long, and prosper), and he and his humor ("Nacho Libre" style) are quite the match, but always end up in each others arms by night, usually me laughing and him asking me what we had been arguing about. He is like a VERY encouraging comic version of Santa Claus, so sweet, jolly, and funny all at the same time, how could I argue with that? With that being said, we do look forward to whatever God has planned for us in this new year. AND,  I am also looking forward to the Pixel Scrapper January Blogtrain that will kick off on Jan. 1st  with some of the best designs from some very talented designers, they just get better and better every month:) I wasn't able to participate in the last one, sadly, (remember that time management thing we talked about?), haha,  but I did manage to get something put together for this one. I just LOVED the color palette for this one. I struggled, however, with the purple, so I just went with some of the lighter colors, and added a darker one for a little contrast. This mini kit is very versatile though, I believe. The theme this time is "The Best Is Yet To Come" and I really believe it will be when you venture on through this blogtrain at Pixel Scrapper and gather all the generous goodies for all your scrapping fun and designing. What a way to start the New Year!!! Here is my contribution.  I decided to go ahead and post mine early, as I'll be out of town until after the 1st. Don't forget to run on over to Pixel Scrapper to pick up the rest on Jan 1st:)!!!Oh, and don't forget to leave some love along your way!!! May God Bless you and all of your precious families this year and forever more!!!

Available HERE at Pixel Scrapper now:)

I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."   Isaiah 41:10

Christmas Blessings-Pixel Scrapper Christmas In July!!

Pixel Scrapper is having a Christmas In July Designer Challenge going on amongst her many, many, other awesome things that are always going on over there, and I quickly finished mine to get it on here by the end of this month....whew, talk about last minute!! We are having some super crazy things going on here at the house these last few weeks, so Its been hard to get on here and design. In everything going on, and trust me, there is a lot, we've been able to meet some new people that are super awesome, and even stand beside another family in their dark time and just love on them in the best way we can. I guess in every season of life, we grow and learn more and more conforming to the image of Christ, and to build such character, to be loving, caring, patient, compassionate, trusting, and all other qualities, all of which comes out of suffering sometimes in our lives. I am thankful for what God blesses me with, but I am also thankful for some of the hard times in my life that seemed to never end, because of what I've learned through it. Anyway, I decided to call this kit Christmas Blessings. Its a little clustered and a bit hard to see all the elements, (I kinda rushed through the preview), but standing alone, the elements are really cute....I hope you all like it, and maybe in the future I can make a bigger kit with more depth! Anyway, may God bless you all this week and throughout the weekend and don't forget to leave some love!!:)

There are 6 colored styles and 1 greyscale that is not shown, so you can make whatever, and apply the greyscale one to make it chipboard. CU4CU At The Beach Wood Styles Freebie!!

So, here are the wood styles I made to use in designing my portion of the Pixel Scrapper August 2013  At The Beach blogtrain. I had planned on using them on an alpha, then decided at the last minute not to. It was
late, and I was super tired....so I was just lazy. However, I think they would be super awesome as an alpha, or even surf board. Well, actually there are a lot of possibilities with these.....I even made one into a paper for my At The Beach mini kit, which is coming soon by the way, so don't forget to check it out on Aug. 1, here on my blog and at Pixel Scrapper when it will go live on each participants blogs....You can even get a glimpse of what is to come here, just scroll down and see the different previews of the kits that are already done, just ready to go live on Aug. 1. Anyway, here are the wood styles, I hope you can use them in your designs and scrapping, and as always, may God Bless you all and don't forget to leave some love:)

CU4CU At The Beach Water Styles Freebie!!

Here are the water styles I talked about in the last post:) It took me FOREVER to figure out how to make
these. I watched several different tutorials, and every one of them was different, and had different effects and
outcomes. I took what I liked from each one, tried out so many different blend modes and contours and it just all looked crappy, everytime I tried. I then started from scratch, and just took it one step at a time, made  several conours and painstakingly tried each one, and yada yada yada, until I sort of liked what I saw. So I made one with shadows, and one without shadows. I found that I liked it much better if I applied the style, then duplicated the layer, then merged both layers together. I never could figure out how to make the shadow look awesomely realistic...but I was satisfied with what I did come up with. So, here are my water styles. I hope you like them and can use them in your designs and scrapping in some way. You can also play with them and maybe make them look even better, with a more perfect shadow, lol. Anyway, they are also cu4cu friendly:) As always, may God Bless you all throughout this week, and don't forget to leave some love:) My At The Beach Wood Styles should be next, so stay tuned:)........

CU4CU AT THE BEACH SAND STYLES FREEBIE!

Pixel Scrapper is having an August 2013 "At The Beach" blogtrain challenge in the works right now that I am  participating in and anytime I am starting a kit, the first thing I do is start making templates to use and layer styles to help in my designs....I LOVE layer styles, LOVE to make them and LOVE to share them. So, with this blogtrain theme being "At The Beach", I needed to come up with something, well, beachy! I thought, sand, water, weather worn wood (like the old pickett fence in the sand you always see at the beach), and maybe something to make distressed elements and stickers. So I got to work and managed to make them all this week, and believe me, it was WORK, because I had no idea where to start, lol! I started with sand. I wanted as realistic looking sand as I could find. So I found a tutorial on how to make a sand pattern, it was good, but not realistic. I searched high and lo for a good tutorial, but could not find one. At least not one I liked, lol. It wasn't until I found a tutorial on how to make a drawing in the sand that I found my break! The texture that this tutorial used was a prickly bush texture and I thought it was weird, but I could not believe the difference that it made in the texture I was soooo wanting in my sand. I used that same texture (comes with photoshop) with my sand pattern I made using filters and clouds, and then played with the layer style settings for two days until it finally looked AWESOME to me and I was like "VOILA", as I heard angels singing "hallelujah" in the background, lol......ANYWAY, so here they are. AND, I made them in several different sand colors. There are 6 sand styles that come in .asl and .psd formats. I also added the .jpg's for those who do not have photoshop. These are CU4CU so you may use them in your designs to sell or give away and license however you want:) Just please be a sweety and don't sell or give away the actual layer styles themselves:)
I am super excited and I hope you like them as much as I do. And stay tuned for the next layer style I was off to make, the WATER style!!! It will be added in my next beachapaloosa post:)lol!

CU4CU Journal Card Templates Freebie!

As I am sitting here writing this, I have the worst ear infection, ugh....it really hurts, I may have let it go on for too long. Its been two weeks, and is not getting better! I guess I'll literally DRAG myself to the clinic for some antibiotics, ugh! Please say a prayer for me, I could sure use it:) Anyway, lately, as I am perusing the internet, I see A LOT of journal cards and journal card templates! I love the colors and they just look pretty!! So I decided to fill my ears up with eardrops, and get to designing as I am listening to the new version of Amazing Grace. Its so beautiful and I am so thankful for Jesus coming here on Earth with His amazing Grace and Love to give us the Truth and save His children!!! Thanks you Jesus for breaking our chains of bondage so we may live and have eternal life! You are forever my King!
Anyway, may God Bless you all this week and into the weekend, and may He give you all a special love hug!!! Oh, and don't forget to leave some love:)

This consists of 6 different journal card templates, all easily
customizable and can really even be interchangeable! There are so
many possibilities with these as they are in .psd layered format, .tiff layered format
and even .png separate files! I hope you enjoy them and can make some really neat
journal cards for your designs and scrapbooking:)

CU4CU Library Card Template Freebie!

I was browsing through some vintage image sites the other day trying to scoop up some old vintage ledger pages and letters that people were giving away for free on their site and that didn't have a copyright anymore, because of how old they were, and I started to particularly look for a vintage style library card. I COULD NOT FIND ONE ANYWHERE! Or, at least, that I didn't have to pay for. I'm sure there was one out there in digiland, but it was elusive to me, and I never could find it.  I just couldn't have that, and my frugal self could not pay for one that I know could be made, so I decided to just make one. Its just a basic library card template, but could be made to look vintage and has a lot potential:) So here it is, I hope someone can use it! I plan to one day make something cool out of it for a back to school type kit in the future!! Who knows.....Anyway, May God Bless you all and don't forget to leave some love!!

June 2013 Make A Kit Challenge-CU Simple Pleasures Kit Freebie!

Ok, so the June 2013 Make A Kit Challenge over at Pixel Scrapper is still in progress and won't technically end until the end of this month, so be sure to check back at the end of June at Pixel Scrapper for some AWESOME designs that I am seeing over there . However, I decided to finish mine early, as I have
some other commitments here at home that will keep me busy the next few weeks. I made the first two weeks worth of challenge papers, then made some elements to go with it, followed by an alpha
and a solid paper pack. The colors came from my daughters bedroom, so pretty, and the theme came from some things my daughter loves, such as playing the violin, reading (she is a HUGE reader and is also currently writing a book), playing chess, riding and training her horse, and other things she loves. She also loves famous quotes from old times, which is where the "Esse quam videri" wordart comes from, meaning "to be, rather than to seem to be". So I decided to call this kit Simple
Pleasures. I made it CU friendly for you to use in your designs if you wish, and I hope you like it:)
May God bless you all this week and give you all a special love hug!
As always, don't forget to leave some love, your encouragement really keeps me going like a hot cup of coffee in the morning and a warm ray of sunlight through my window:) Thanks!!

You can now grab this HERE at Pixel Scrapper:)

And here is the CU Solid Papers pack that goes with this kit:)

Well, here it is, the second set of textures I have for you all. I LOVE how the chevron texture paper turned out! I was playing around with them and added different type of textures with plain cardstock and using the embossing tool. It was a lot of fun and made so many different possibilities. I plan on starting a boy kit (my 7 year old's request) with something like a racing theme, or hot wheels type theme and using the chevron texture for the papers. Wouldn't that be cool? Well I hope you all can make something fabulous with them and as always, may God Bless you all this week! Oh, and don't forget to leave some love, its sooo encouraging, thanks in advance!!:)

CU4CU Textures Freebie!

So who does not LOVE a texture freebies!! I do, the thing is, its hard to find texture freebies that are cu4cu, so we can make fun stuff to sell or (in my case) give  away as commercial use for others to make some super cool stuff to sell or give away and it just goes on and on. Well, I decided a long time ago to just make my own textures with scanned paper, fabric, public domain textures, and all that fun stuff. Now I have tons of textures and really only use a handful of my favorites, isn't that how
it always is, lol. I decided why not share them for others to get some great use out of them, so here they are. This is the first of 3 sets I hope to get on here. This one consists of four 12X12, 300ppi,
.jpg greyscale texture papers. I hope you like them and as always, may God Bless you in all your ways and be to you according to His perfect will this week and throughout this weekend! Oh, and of course, don't forget to leave some love!

CU Staples Freebie!

I've had these staple for like EVER, I made them last year and have been deliberating over if they are good enough to give away, so I decided the other day to just throw them on here anyway:) AND, as if the staples weren't good enough on their own, I had to make staple SHADOWS for the preview. I am NOT good at shadows. I seriously think I may have a depth perception problem,lol....I tried and tried to make different shadows, but to me, there is just something not right about them. So If anyone has any pointers, please, throw it out here, cause I can sure enough use them:)  Thankfully, the shadows are not included, you can make your own beautiful shadows that might even make the staples say "Ahh, thank you, we actually feel somewhat like staples now". May God bless you all and don't forget to show some love, or in this case, encouragement...hahaha!
