Furry Friends- Kitty Newest Release At Pixel Scrapper!!!

This month's theme for the March 2015 Pixel Scrapper Blog Train was "Animal Kingdom"
with quite a large color palette. Almost ever color you could imagine, or at least all basic colors and some neutrals. The idea was that everyone pick an animal or animals that they would like to design a kit for. The response was huge, and with every animal you could imagine, from cats and dogs, to llamas, wolves, reptiles, birds, and so many more. Then we could pick from among the many colors presented for our kits. Sooooooo, when I thought about what animal I wanted to do, the answer was
already in the back of my head, haha. You see, this last October, a stray cat adopted us as her family. We fed her outside (she was starving to death) and then realized later that she was pregnant. After much debate, my hubby and I decided to let her deliver her kitties in our garage (turned into homeschool/play room) where it was nice, warm, and cozy. In November, she gave birth, with me, my daughters (who rushed home when I texted them) and my boys all standing on the sidelines supporting her! The last to be born was the biggest, and most active, rolling off the little cat bed and onto the floor. Mommy didn't seem to care as she was cleaning the others, so I scooped the little guy up (even though we really shouldn't touch them yet) and settled him in with the rest, where
mom continued with her cleaning and cuddling! I knew then I would love this little guy forever!! Soooo, as time went on, we found a place for all the kitties, we couldn't keep all of them, but I just couldn't let this little guy go, so we kept him and named him "James Tiberius Kirk" aka Mr. Tibbs!!
I'm a huge trekky, what can I say (ps. On a serious note, let us take a moment of silence as we mourn our beloved Leonard Nimoy "Spock" who died yesterday at the age of 83....so sad, you will forever be missed, we love you, Spock)!! Well, anyway, our little Mr. Tibbs is quite the handful, so energetic, crazy, and slicing and dicing us ever chance he gets (he NEVER stops playing, haha)! Soooo, now you
know what animal I picked!! I really wanted a fun kit to scrap his crazy cute self, and for all others that have fur baby kitties they want to scrap!! So I picked the colors I thought would look great together and be versatile enough for different color kitties, and got started drawing. Drawing cats was NOT easy for me, lol! I wanted to capture that crazy "Eddie from the Lion King" look my cat always
has. He is sooooo dorky cute and just plain CRAZY, and I really wanted to translate into my designs somewhere. So I made a few kitties with that personality, then drew some plain cute kitties for the sweet moments, and because they were just, well, cute, lol!!! OK, ok, I know, enough talking about the kit!! I can't help it, I love the backstory! Well, anyway, I wound up making a BUNDLE out of it
(I was having so much fun making it) and named it "Furry Friends- Kitty". AND  I made a smaller kit as well to share in blog train. ALSO, for the blog train, I made some 3x3 fun pocket cards to go with the mini kit!!! So be sure to grab those as well in the next post!!

Rustic Charm Feb. 2015 Blog Train Freebie!!

Whew...Its been a while since I have posted anything on my blog! I was just too busy with holiday sicknesses, haha, and family occasions to even participate in the last Pixel Scrapper blog train, sadly! This time, however, I was determined to set aside time to play with this month's theme "Rustic Charm". What do you think of when you think "Rustic Charm"? I think of burlap, canvas textures, wood, vintage metals, and anything from the woods or that is natural and even distressed or roughed up a little. Throw in some chalkboard, cardboard, and tulle, and to me, it becomes charming, lovely, and sweet!! I have some super sweet photos of my daughter and her beloved horse "Dude" and that was also thrown in my pile of inspiration!! I wanted to create a kit that had that rustic feel to it, yet could also portray love, or fondness, a sense of happiness and belonging! Soooo, this was the culmination of all those thoughts and feeling, haha!! I hope I, in some way, was able to capture those feelings in this kit, and I am super excited to try a layout with my daughter and her horse "Dude", after all, she inspired the direction of this kit:)
